Wedding Transportation Help!

Darmae, on May 15, 2020 at 11:55 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
Hi all,

I am having my ceremony at a church that is 30 minute away from my reception. Do you think it is necessary for me to provide transportation from the ceremony to the reception?
What are your thoughts?

I thought so as well - check our allure limo and services inc. We are using them and their prices are definitely reasonable .. they might be able to give you a quote within your range.

Thank y’all for such thoughtful answers. My Fiancé and I will probably let our guests take care of their own transportation.

As for us and the bridal party, a limo service may be out of the budget since we already spent so much having 300+ guests.
We may consider renting a car for bride&groom only/ uber premium and let the bridal party drive on their own since we’re having a “dry” reception anyways.

Transportation is needed if you feel you want to have a grand entrance and wait until everyone has left the church. You two can have the pictures taken alone while you have the chance with the photographer and/or with the wedding party upon your call.

Experience from cousins wedding has been arranged for guests to and from the venue for events held. Your wedding day can be the same considering guests staying at the hotel who aren't driving would need transportation including the wedding party. Locals will drive themselves.

The wedding party along with you is an option considering the limo isn't affordable for the amount quoted for the distance and hours. One of the wedding party can drive you if chosen to not drive yourselves.

Wedding party I would say yes, especially because if your anything like me and my friends or the type of newlyweds my fh and I will be, your going to enjoy a celebratory drink with the party before you walk down the aisle. For the rest of the guests, it’s not necessary

I would probably for the wedding party, but not the whole guest list. A half an hour isn't that bad, I was in a wedding where the hair was an hour away from the makeup which was another 40 minutes from the venue.

As a past bridesmaid, I would say yes only because it keeps the entire party together and you get to laugh, drink and have some moments just for your bridal party before going in to see everyone. If it works too, you can take the limo to the ceremony as well with your bridesmaids!

Besides going to the venue, will you be using any transportation after the ceremony for photos at an offsite location? If you are, it might be best to provide transportation to the photo area and then to the reception after.

    Also, funny story ...

I tried not booking transportation as I'm getting married at the Ancaster Mill and staying 2 minutes down the road the night before and the night of the wedding and our photos will be done on sight as well so I found no need to rent a limo. My mother INSISTED that I couldn't show up in a car or leave in a car at the end of the night .. she is now paying for that limo lol.

I agree with what Tori said... transportation from your ceremony to reception is not necessary. With that being said, if your reception is out of the way and you expect a lot of guests to be staying at a hotel see if you can work transportation from the hotel to the reception and reception to hotel Smiley smile

I don't think so, 30 minutes isn't that bad imo - plus it's not like they are going to be drinking a whole lot at the ceremony and won't be able to drive.
