This is the tentative outline that my venue supplied. We are getting married at an Inn so have the hotel to ourselves all morning to get ready & take pictures. Then we will have our guests shuttled there from a separate hotel:

9:00 AM - Brunch for overnight guests

10:00 AM - Hair and makeup start

12:00 PM - Bring in lunch or order a catered lunch by venue

2:00 PM - First Look (tentative time)

2:30 PM - Family & Bridal Party Portraits

    4:15 PM - Shuttle arrival

    4:30 PM - Wedding Ceremony

    5:00 PM - Cocktails, Hors d’Oeuvre & Photos

6:15 PM - Bar Closes for Dinner, Guests take seats, wine to tables

6:30 PM - Bridal Party Enters Tent

6:35 PM - MC intros, Housekeeping

6:45 PM - Dinner Starts (speeches throughout)

8:30 PM - Bar reopens after Speeches, First Dance & Parent Dances

9:00 PM - Gifts & Wedding Cards Removed to Inn

    9:30 PM - Bouquet Toss

10:15 PM - First shuttle departs

10:30 PM - Late night food

    12:00 AM - Reception Concludes

12:15 AM - Last shuttle departs

Same! I only have the photographer for 7 hours. I want the getting dressed pics but not the couple shot before the ceremony.

Ours is very similar. I just worked with my photographer and hair/makeup to come up with this. We worked backwards from our ceremony time, and this is what we have.

    7:30: Hair and Makeup start

    11-12: girls getting ready pictures

    12:30-1:30 guys getting ready pictures

    2 PM: First look

2:30- 4: wedding party photos/ immediate family photos

    4:30: Limo to ceremony

    5pm: Ceremony start

    5:30: hopefully ceremony is done

5:30-6:30pm: Large family photos ( 1 group photo for each side of the family) This is during cocktail hour

I haven't gotten into the details for the reception yet. But entrance and first dance will be before dinner. We are also considering doing the father daughter dance, and mother son dance before dinner as well because of the time we have our photographer for.

Our photographer also sent us her timeline for pictures, which has helped us with the "getting ready" portion too!

I would ask your hair/makeup how much time they need based on how many people you have- this will vary on when you begin. The way mine is currently set up because of number of girls example I have 6 bridesmaids plus me

    7 am hair/makeup begins

12 pm photographer arrives and takes photos of venue decorated, different areas, and then starts with girls getting ready

1 pm guys getting ready photos

    2 pm first look

3 pm wedding party together/ each side separate

3:45 pm we leave for ceremony

    4 pm everyone seated

    4:15 pm ceremony

    4:45 pm end of ceremony

Cocktail immediate following at other location- 10 min drive

6 pm cocktail done- grand entrance

    6:15 pm first dance

    6:25 cake cut

6:30 pm buffet style food served

    7:30 pm dance with parents

    toasts after the dances

    8 pm reception start

    12 pm last call

    1pm shut down

This is actually the resource I'm using as well, it has helped immensely in just getting an idea of how the day should be structured. Our ceremony begins at 3pm, so I will start getting ready around 10am Smiley smile
