Wedding signs

Jess, on December 2, 2019 at 00:23 Posted in DIY 0 37
I am beyond excited about all of the projects coming up for the wedding. All of the decorations will be made by myself, so the to-do list is long!

Over the last few weeks I have been working on painting these signs. I bought the wood from a craft store (all with the same stain), and have been working slowly with a paint brush. So pleased with the results so far!

What other signs are you making...!? I also have a "be smitten, not bitten" not pictured (for bug spray, just in case). I'd like to make a sign to put with the sparklers, but I'm not sure what I'd want it to say. Please share your ideas!!!

Hi Marla! I made the signs by sketching the words in cursive right on the wood, then going over the letters using acrylic paint, and different brushes sizes to "thicken" some of the lines. Thank you!!

    Hey!

Are you using a Cricut for the text and pictures? Or are you doing that yourself?

    They look amazing!

Hello! I'm thinking I will display it on an easel at the entrance of the dinner space (and the "Welcome to our Wedding" will be at the ceremony). Really, I hope to sell all the signs on Facebook Marketplace afterwards, but wanted one piece that we could keep in our home. The Mr and Mrs sign is the one!

Wow sounds amazing. That is very cool that you get to have your special day in your family's space. It would be really cool to keep some of the transformed wood afterwards for a small project that can be kept in your home, as a reminder of your day!

Wow great job! These are beautiful. I’ll be making all my own signs as well! I got a cricut and it has been a godsend - so so easy to cut and stencil everything.
I did make this for our home:

I would do a sign too! That way you also don't have to make little 2x4 tags

That is awesome!!! How are you going about making a podium and bar? Our space is quite simple, so theres lots that could be done... With only 6 hours to set everything up the day before, I'm afraid of planning too much and running out of time for it all!

I also have the seating chart done LOL glad I'm not alone. And our weddings are just a week apart, so you're not the only one doing things early!

Thanks!! I'm doing all the graphic design myself, from invitations to placecards to signage and I'm really enjoying it.

We're not getting married until July but I've already designed the seating chart lol! And the "M&T" is kinda our "brand"; it's on everything lol!

LOVE THAT. "Let the sparks fly" - thats perfect, thank you!

An alternate idea to the sign - I saw at a wedding they made a little 2x4" paper tag with a cutesy message. They were hole punched at the top and bottom and "threaded" onto the sparkler. I think it would be super cute, but I'm afraid people would litter them when they go to light their sparkler... A sign might be the easiest bet!

    These are great!

Our style is completely different though Smiley smile I've got a bar sign that says "Alcohol. Because no good party ever started with someone eating a salad". We're doing a taco bar with a sign that says "First comes love, then comes tacos".
FH is making metal frames that I'm going to paint white and the signs will "float" inside the frame.

Yes! I forgot, I also plan to do one for a schedule. I've seen a lot of people using a wooden pallet. Im going to try to do it over the winter holidays, and hope it lasts alright in the garage until summer. I agree - its so much easier than programs!

I would go with: Let the Sparks fly! for your sparkler sign.
