Wedding Registry... thoughts on My registry.com?

Any thoughts on the universal registry myregistry.com ? My fiancé and I have two stores we want to register at (Hudson’s Bay and MEC). MEC does not have a registry option and the bay does, so myregistry would allow us to select MEC items and import both our Hudson’s Bay registry and the MEC items we select.


Any feedback, thoughts and tips on universal registries and if you have used myregistry - would be great & appreciated! Thanks!!

    The idea sounds great if the items are being shipped to you directly than receiving it at the wedding itself. Asking the date to have the packages delivered to your home before a certain date or after the wedding so you do get them than to not be home.

    Registries for many events are being done this way as its easier to avoid extra charges for weight charges while travelling.

    I'm using it and I love it. We've added items from BB&B, Amazon, West Elm, Ikea, Home Depot, and Canadian Tire. Even gift cards to help fund our home renovations! It's given us the freedom to add things from sites and brick and mortar stores that don't have a registry system. There are no stores in our city that have a registry and the closest BB&Bs are an hour or an hour and a half away.

    I haven't used it for weddings but it sounds like Elfster, which I have used for Christmas exchanges. If it allows you to pick specific things from multiple retailers, including online retailers, I say go for it!
