Wedding Registry in Quebec

Based on Quebec's law and terms of receiving registry gifts may be hard as your saying. The only best suggestion is asking for money so that you two can buy what you want for your home after the wedding. This way it becomes easier for those coming from far to help you with your home budget expenses.

Gifts otherwise may be given that may not be what you will want or expect unless your open to the idea. It would be best to indicate Monetary Gifts on your invitation.

The Bay is a Canadian company/store and they unfortunately don't have stores in the USA. That shouldn't have an impact on your guests' ability to shop online.

What I would also suggest, is to offer other options in your registry, like gift cards. So one couple, on their wedding website, had links to The Bay, Canadian Tire and Ikea. The last two basically directed guests to the gift card purchase page, which was brilliant (IMO), as it allowed guests to purchase something within their own budget.

Being from Québec, I share your pain! Unfortunately, Target closed all of their stores in Canada a couple of years ago, so that wouldn't work either.

One place that has stores pretty much everywhere is The Hudson's Bay - There's even a location in Les Promenades in Gatineau. So I would look into starting a registry with them!
