Wedding reception update

Ok so we of you read my post about how I was trying to decide between a dinner or cocktail reception.

We have decided to do the cocktail reception. Originally for the premium buffet option with our venue, we were looking at $2,250- GST and gratuity which isn't bad for all that is included for 60. The venue just sent us the updated menu. They added some stuff to the buffet option but the price went up as well, to $2,880+gst and gratuity which is fair for what it offers but is a significant pricee jump that is boarderling too much for me to justify. I feel that even spend $2,200 on hu o'derves would give us a good amount of food and make it so expensive.
Thoughts?

    That's what I would do too - see about using the same quote for what they would make. You wouldn't be asking for the new items that they have added to the menu - just whatever was talked about and discussed. Worst they can say is no and then you may as well go with the hors d'oeuvres

    Wow what a price jump from the quote given first time around. That amount seems fair since you wanted to have some extras added on your buffet. Knowing your happy with the decision and selection, go for it.

    We decided on an antipasto station instead of hors dourves which was significantly cheaper!

    Maybe see if they have an antipasto station!

    I would talk to the venue and and ask if they can honour the initial quote that you were given because some places do that, some don't though.

    If you can't justify spending that amount then maybe look into options to make it cheaper?

    For sure talk to them though and see what they say about the initial quote.
