wedding planner advice

I'm just wondering what thoughts people have on contacting a wedding planner to offer our wedding date to another couple? I know we are going to take a loss by selling it below what we paid, but we're willing to. I know alot of Fridays & Saturdays in 2021 are taken & my husband and I married in our backyard on our original date so we no longer need the big wedding. We're just hoping to make another couple's dreams come true.


As a wedding planner would you be upset receiving an email like this? Do you have any couples struggling to find a date in 2021 & you may appreciate this approach?
I don't want to essentially start cold calling wedding planners if it's something that would be upsetting.

    We don't have a planner, but the venue would issue a new contract if there was a transfer of service. Just looking for someone to take over the contract & wondered if a wedding planner might have a couple looking for the date.

    Another couple taking the date isn't a problem though the planner should be aware and the contract would need the next couples names and signature. Its the choice you have to make and let the planner know.

    I don't think that would necessarily upset a wedding planner but considering how many people have to tighten their pockets due to financial hardship during the pandemic, I'm not sure that many people will be using full service wedding planning for the foreseeable future. It doesn't hurt to try but I wouldn't expect your yield to be high. And the thing is, if I am a wedding planner, I wouldn't exactly want to do the leg work unless I'm receiving a commission for this sale.
