Wedding planner ?

Kathleen, on September 24, 2021 at 09:20 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9
Hey everyone I’m in the process of planning my wedding and I want some advice about hiring a wedding planner. What are your thoughts about hiring one ? Is it really necessary?

Sorry Kathleen for the typos and a wedding planner/day coordinator is highly recommended** not a must. It's really up to you!

Morning Kathleen! I'm a bit surprised about them telling you that. We were and are still advanced/advance in our wedding planning and they all said that a wedding planner just for the day is a must! Our venue offers us a day coordinator but she won't be able to be only for us if there are other weddings. Our venus also in all inclusive with the decor, food, etc!

If you are still in doubt I would suggest you keep looking! I was like you a couple of months ago with my doubts but if you want to be stress free... Keep in open mind.
    Good luck!

    Hi Maggnard!
Thank you for your answer 😊 Our reception hall do offer a coordinator and the food , decor , menu is all included . We were thinking about hiring a day coordinator and I’ve we started meeting them a few of them have expressed that we do not really need once since we are really organized and advanced in our planning and suggested that we ask a friend to make sure we respect our timeline but I am kinda stressing about things not going the way I planned .

    Hi Kathleen!
From what we've experience when researching the venues. Most of them offer a coordinator for the venue, but they won't have time to coordinate your wedding during the day because of the other weddings that might be going on the same day as you. To help the couple and reduce the stress, I would definitely suggest hiring a wedding planner only for your big day! We decided to hire one and so far, she is really helpful and helps us doing the process. We didn't want one at first but finding one that fits the budget will be worth it in the long wrong. She will help coordonate all the vendors, help with the ceremony and reception timelines, answer all questions regarding the wedding planning and help you stay on budget or help you figure out what you really need.

Good luck planning and don't forget to have fun!

The vendors price are the hardest tthing for us right now to be honest. My friend is a event planner but never did a wedding and we realized fast that the price range she expected everything to be in are not realistic as a wedding is longer than a party. the hall already offer a day coordinator. We mostly need a weding planner to help us find the vendors but should we really spend thousands to try to find vendors at a cheaper price ?

Hey! So IMO a wedding planner maybe benefit you because you are a student and work cause believe me i've been planning my wedding for a year and its a lot of work lol my fiance's cousin is a wedding planner and fortunately gifted us her cheapest service so basically she gives me her recommendations on vendors that are best suited in our budget, if it weren't for her i'd probably be hiring the most expensive vendors thinking that their prices are normal haha so like you said they definitely have their advantages plus she will be my day of coordinator which takes all the stress off me!

We also have a coordinator from the venue but they only doing set up of tables chairs silverware dishes glasses etc (the stuff that they already have at the venue) they will not set up our extra decor that we bring. everything else our day of coordinator will set up. It's totally up to you what you wanna do. Are you friends that are event planners, coming to the wedding? If not, you could defiantly reach out to them and see if they would like to help you out!

Hey Amanda, Thank you for answering. The different halls that we are planning to book already offer a coordinator for the venue. We are thinking about hiring one as we have heard so many advantages to do one specially with the fact that we are both students and working. I have some close friends that are event planner ( not wedding ) so I am wondering if should just stick with them . What do you think?

HI Kathleen! Welcome to WeddingWire!! Congrats on the engagement!! Smiley heart

My fiance and I have hired a day of coordinator. That way we can relax the morning of our big day and not stress about everything. She'll be putting all of our centerpieces together, our walk in table, cake table and our ceremony accessories etc. She will also be helping with any questions that the vendors have or need help with since we won't be at the venue until about half hour before the ceremony. She's also going to be with us during the ceremony to help with timing of walking down the aisle for all of us as well as the reception of when to enter our reception area
