Wedding Planner

Emily, on February 4, 2020 at 14:29 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8

Is anyone getting a wedding planner? I'm not sure if I should or not.

Or they also offer a wedding day management option where they just take care of everything from the 4 weeks before your wedding and the big day. I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not.

To be fair I'm really not sure what I'm doing as far as planning goes either lol

We have a day-of coordinator. We will meet with her 6 weeks before the wedding to go over the itinerary in detail and basically tell her exactly how we want the day to go. She will then take over all vendor contact from thereon and will be there all day on the wedding day to make sure everything goes super smoothly and exactly as we want. We are confident planning everything leading up to the big day, but just really didn’t want to have to worry about things on the day whilst we are busy getting married! It’s a relief to know that she will be there to sort out any potential problems and make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time Smiley smile

I'm thinking about getting a day of coordinator. I think it'll be worth it to have someone else pick up the cake and set up things for us. Plus I'd like to be a little surprised when I see our venue decorated, and that won't happen if I do it myself.
I'm a bit of a control freak so I'm not sure of I can actually let myself let someone else do these things for me.

If you can afford it, get a day of coordinator. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am we went this route. She took care of the day of schedule (which is amazing because I can't tell you how many posts I've seen about making the day of schedule), she coordinated with our vendors in the weeks leading up to the day, she did all the vendor juggling on the day so we were able to just enjoy our wedding. Yup. 110% worth it.

I typically plan events both in work and personal life so planning the wedding is fine. What has/was/is freaking me out is the actual day of because I can't be in my usual coordinator role for obvious reasons. So instead, I asked a family friend to be my day of coordinator, she gladly accepted!

I hired a month of coordinator. In the beginning I wasn't planning on hiring one either, but then my grandma talked me into it, and honestly I'm so glad she did. The reason why I did is because I didn't want to be running around and making sure vendors will be where they're supposed to be when they're supposed to be there, and someone to make sure that all contracts are being fulfilled properly and that decorations and drinks/food is correct and placed correctly. I want to be able to leave all that in capable hands so I'm not worrying about those details leading up to the ceremony or during the reception.
She's also been great at giving advice and guiding me on certain things that I was completely lost on so she has been an immensely valuable asset already.
