Wedding personal assistant/attendent

Simone, on January 15, 2017 at 20:58 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
Hi everyone,
I have been getting assistance from a close friend that has been giving me tips and also has been offering and providing help. She is already the MC at our wedding reception and has now become my Personal Bride Assistant or the Wedding Assistant. She has no issues with this and wants to help out as she has helped my friend with her wedding planning almost two years ago and has helped with Wedding socials. Here is a link I found related to this topic:http://www.onepreciouspearl.com/wedding-personal-attendant-duties-and-checklist/

I will be modifying some duties as j will be carrying my dress and stuff to the hotel the night before the wedding.
Has anyone considered this opinion compared to hiring a Wedding Planner?

As a point of reference- in the GTA a licensed/ certified planner will charge a minimum of 800$ for day of coordination. If you find anyone for less they are not certified, as it is an industry required base, to keep everyone honest and make the field a bit more even for qualified planners.

I know that some non- certified DOCs might be great, but if anyone goes that route make sure you get lots of references!

I'm so glad our venue has one included in the cost so I never priced it out. But from what I hear it can't be TOO bad or someone would be like, "oh they were great but a bit much for what they did", but I've only ever heard that they were "worth every penny" (in those exact words). I hope you find someone!

I also agree with Valerie. If your budget works out that you can get a DOC, I would got that route.

I just might then! It really all depends on budget! I'm going to a few local bridal shows so I'll see if I can find any there.

We have tossed around the idea of hiring a day- of- coordinator. From what I hear they are more of a "month- of" point person for you, and make the day run smoothly.

I really want to hire one, but FH is hesitant, because it would add a bit to the budget....I'll let you guys know if he gives in Smiley winking

Simone, you are lucky to have this service for your wedding!

I hear from EVERYONE that getting a DOC (day of coordinator) is the greatest thing they did and worth every penny! You should totally look into it!

I'll have to check with the venue to see if they have a point person, if not and I can find a bit more in the budget , I might get someone for the day as well! Smiley smile

Thanks Lisa. I wasn't even sure if this exists, but I am glad as a bride our day will be busy enough and hopefully not stressful.

I think an assistant is a great idea. Better than a planner actually! I love planning the wedding but it would great just to have someone for the day!!! Go for it!
