Wedding Music

Hello!
We're having a small wedding around 35 people. We don't need a DJ, but will still need some background music (I'm working on a playlist that we can have running), ceremony/aisle song and our first dance.
What have over couples done?
We're between using a Bluetooth speaker from home (not sure if it'll be loud enough) Or renting a speaker sound system from a local vendor to plug into. (This also gives us the option to have a mic and a sub woofer if desired)
Any advice on what worked would be amazing.

Testing out Bluetooth speakers is a good way to know if the volume is where you like it along with your phone volume to work along the way. Renting speakers if needed though 2 seems more than enough placed in corners and the volume would be sufficient for a small crowd.

Our wedding will be about 25 guests. We rented some speakers from Long & McQuade for a super reasonable price, something like $14 per speaker per weekend and we rented 3 for our space. They said they would give us a run through of how to use it when we pick it up. We were going to use Bluetooth speakers but couldn't find any that I felt were loud enough or nice quality sound.

It'll probably depend on your space more than anything. All we needed was one Bluetooth speaker and it worked great in my in-laws backyard. You could hear it clearly even while we were live streaming the ceremony which we were a little worried about. We also did a practice run though specifically for the music a couple weeks before just in case we ended up thinking we would need rented equipment and that would give us some time to do that. But either way, definitely do a run through with your sound equipment beforehand and show whoever will be setting it up and running it everything.

We were planning on renting sound equipment cause we didn't think a Bluetooth speaker would be good enough in our venue, but we had a DJ we know offer us a discounted rate so we're doing that
