Wedding invitations paper or online

Desiree, on December 18, 2020 at 11:22 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7
I only need about 35 invitations and I recently got a quote for 35 invitations /pocket style/ Envelope plus rsvp/Envelopes costing 185
I feel like it’s a decent price.but I’m curious what is normally the going rate for Invitations? should I go the paper route or do it by website . If any one can share more information about doing a wedding website .
Thank

If you or someone you know has a Costco membership, they have a bunch of invites that are $17 for 25! That's the cheapest I've found. I've seen their invites in person at a bridal expo and will be ordering mine from Costco.

It really depends what you prefer. For me personally, it was important to have actual invitations sent out as opposed to email. I loved how they turned out and the quality. But if you’re looking to save costs definitely go by email.

Invitations by paper or online vary on sites and prices.

Paper: Michaels offer wedding invitation kits for DIY to make at home given the size and pattern chosen. Online sites charge by quantity. Vistaprint offers discounts on their site to save when ordering. Its always nice to keep up with their emails to know when they notify you. Other websites have designs and patterns that will have variety to choose.

Online: Its always nice to go electronically for guests to make it easy to view the invitation and reply easy as it doesn't take that much more time in the day.

We did vistaprint paper because it was significantly cheaper and I’m so glad we did printed invites. We offered digital RSVPs and our website and nobody used it, including our friends. Knowing your guests will help you decide what option is better.

My fiance and I are doing paper invitations since it's more special that way and some of our guests aren't computer savvy. We bought a pack from Michaels. The brand is Gartner Studios. It has 50 invitations, 50 envelops and 50 rsvp cards. It was only 20.00. Once you buy the package you just go online look up the template that you bought and type up whatever saying you want for your invites and print them right at home Smiley smile

If your guests all have an email that they regularly check, and you don't have any particular sentiment towards giving paper invites, I highly recommend going the online route. Digital invites will help you send reminders to outstanding responses, you can add way more info about your wedding than you would be able to on a card, and it costs way less.

But if you want to send paper invites, you can save money but not ordering a traditional "wedding invite" with all the frills like special patterns and layering that make them fancy. Most print shops will print postcards for under $1 each, which you can design yourself if you are Photoshop-savvy.
