Dear friends,

I really need your help. I am trying to understand the price comparisons of different venues including all taxes and hidden costs, and also whether these venues also provide decor flowers dj etc. I am feeling very lost. any suggestions from your own experience would mean a lot to me. I really dont want to cross 40-50 k for an 85-100 people wedding but maybe I am not being realistic?

Hi! Toronto and its venues can vary on what they offer, but the pricing should be similar (within range) for similar requests. For example, Markham Convention Centre charges in the tune of $90-$100 for an open-bar reception event with food, and no decor. For weddings with decor, you'd be looking at between $80-$90 per person.
Some venues also cater to specific wedding traditions, such as Scarborough Convention Centre, which caters to Hindu Weddings. They would price you for the decor, traditional floral arrangements, vegetable food (due to Hindu traditions), the price of the priest, limo service, etc. Most recently, they were charging about $85 per person for this. Photo/Video and all your personalized items would be on your own budget.
Weddings have definitely gotten more expensive over the last 3-5 years. I had a friend who got married at one of these venues in Oct 2021, and she received venue, food and decor for under $45 per person.
I would totally recommend you visiting multiple venues so you can see what each of them offers, and what pricing looks like. You also get to see the specific services/offerings that certain venues may not offer. This will give you some room to negotiate or ask for more.
