Wedding Gifts

How do you politely just ask for cash?

We don't need any new material items and I feel bad asking people to contribute to my honeymoon.

Hey Michelle, so I'm pretty sure it's the Italian in me but we're just not registering (for our wedding) and not saying anything about it, so we're assuming that our guests will clue in and give monetary gifts. I've never been to a wedding that didn't have a registry and think "let's get them a toaster then!", so I think you'll be okay (depending on your crowd lol).

I put the phrase NO BOXED GIFTS PLEASE. Simpliest way to let your guests know that way.

    Hi Michelle,

Here's the blurb we'll be using on our wedding website:

The most important thing is to have you with us on our special day.

No gifts are needed or expected, however we have been asked what we need or would like and, if you do wish to give us something, a little cash towards our first house would be very much appreciated.

I wouldn't feel bad about asking for money for your honeymoon - lots of people do!

Here are a couple of the little blurbs I was considering for my wedding:
