Wedding Flowers - Dried and/or Artificial?

Christine, on May 18, 2023 at 16:18 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 11

Hi everyone!

I’m thinking about getting either artificial or dried flowers for my wedding so that I’m spending money on something that can be reused and won’t die in a week lol

For anyone who got dried or artificial for their wedding:

1)Where’d you get them?

2)If artificial, how “artificial” do they actually look? Can you really tell they’re fake if you’re up close?

3)If dried, is there any special care for them? Like so they won’t fall apart, etc.

4)If dried, did you have to order them a certain amount of time before the wedding? (again, so they wouldn’t fall apart or something)

5)Any tips, tricks, or cautionary tales?

I think dried is the route I’m wanting to go but it seems like a lot of them are sold by sellers on Etsy and some ship from far away (I’m in Ontario, Canada) and I worry if they’re good quality or not, also worried about potential damage during shipping. Especially since a lot of the sellers don’t accept returns or exchanges!

Thanks all!

Yes we do. We bought them from a florist in Edmonton Alberta. The flowers that we chose would've been over $3000 if they were real. We only spent a little over $900 for all. 10 centerpieces, 2 bouquets, 6 boutineers and 5 corsages.

These look really good! Do you live in Canada? When I went to flower shops here they told me it was about 20% more expensive to do artificial. And I definitely thought the real flowers cost was way too expensive

I got a combination of dried and artificial, the men's boutonnieres and mom corsages I got off Etsy, and they are a mix of dried and silk. My bouquet and my bridesmaid bouquets are all artificial, and I got them all on Amazon. I am thrilled with the quality and especially the cost! I spent under $400 for all of my flowers.

I'm using silk flowers for my bouquet and for the girls. I wanted to be able to keep my bouquet and didn't want the stress of real flowers being preserved and taken to a professional before they start wilting.

My friend had hers preserved and had to drive 2 hours the next day, mind you they turned out great.

My husband and I used artificial flowers from a flower shop here in our city.

They honestly looked really and felt real as well!

Higher quality then Dollarama or Michaels.
