Wedding flowers cost question

Natalie, on July 14, 2017 at 18:43 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 28
Hello! We are just in the process of planning our wedding and getting quotes on flowers. This is all so new to me but for all flowers needed (bouquet, boutonnière, ceremony and tables) what was the average price range you paid or were quoted? I'm just not sure what is normal or outrageous. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you want real flowers, be prepared to fork over a lot of money. But I heard Costco isn't to badly priced.

I'm using a local florist for

Bride boquet, 4 Maids boquets, 3 ladies corsages, 7 boutonneers, petals for flowergirls.

total cost is going to be about $500

and for Centrepiece flowers, I'm going to costco.ca and ordering for pick up the day before. only about $100 there

Ours is around $450. This includes bride bouquet (18 roses and other flowers), two bridesmaid bouquet (6 roses and other flowers each), grooms boutonniere, two groomsman boutonniere, 6 centerpieces (rentals of the vases and wooden board included in this price), a large sweetheart table arrangement, four vases of flowers in front of the sweet heart table, a large vase of flowers by the table chart and various rose petals.
We found a local lady who does floral arrangements and bakes as well. Shes also doing our cake. Three tier, 50 servings for $185 with a few fresh flowers as decoration included.

Hi Natalie,"from the stem up" charges the following:Bridal bouquet: $200.00-250.00
    Bridal toss bouquet (optional): $30.00
    Corsages (Mothers/Grandmothers): $15.00 each
Men Boutionieres (Wedding party): $10.00 each
    Men Boutionieres (Father's, Grandfather's): $7.00 each
    Bridesmaid Bouquets: $****.00 each
    Flower girl: $20.00 each
    Ring bearer: $5.00 each
NO TAX (because it is a small home business)
The flowers are lifelike so they can be kept forever. They look and feel real, so no one at the wedding will know. It might not be the cheapest route but at least you have something afterwards. Good luck with your planning! ❤❤❤

I'm a thrifty bride so we made our bouquets and centrepieces. I spent $91.00 for artificial flowers for 2 bouquets, 6 boutonnieres, one corsage, 4 pots for on the steps of the gazebo, and 5 centrepieces with crystal vases set on mirrors (with 10 real roses in each). If interested, I'll give you details of how I saved a ton of money. We're putting the $600 or so dollars we've saved toward our honeymoon.

All in, it will cost us $800. Included in that is $100 for delivery & setup.3 bouquets, 4 corsages, 7 boutonnières, 2 large arrangements for ceremony (mom insisted LOL) and 12 centrepieces. My centrepieces will be a stack of books, but beside that is a vintage milk bottle. I asked for suggestions and she suggested a rose and carnation so they're not full on rose centrepieces. I love carnations even though they're cheap. I think I got a good deal. She's a newer florist (4 years) and works from her home. I'm sure this would've been way more if I went to one of the trendier ones in town.

I'm paying just over 700 all in for 6 bouquets and 6 boutonnières. I opted out of the centrepieces but it was 15 for each centrepiece for 2 flowers and 20 for each if I got 3 flowers.
She came back one of the cheapest if you can believe it. But she also pointed out to me that types of flowers range in price as well as quantity. I'm doing all roses, so I think my flowers are more expensive in general? I'm not sure tho. I had one quote come back at $1500 for the 6 bouquets and boutonnières. Now that I thought was outrageous! I still feel like 700 is a lot but flowers are expensive! My florist also works out of her home which she explained to me allows her to be cheaper as her overhead isn't as high. Things to think about. Even the cheapest quote blew me away so good luck!

For me the first step was to determine the entire budget for the wedding. Then I read a few articles that suggested what percentage of that budget should be dedicated to flowers and decor. I think the number was around 10-15% depending on how important the flowers are to you. Once you figure that out, go to a few florists and ask them what they can offer you for that amount. Unless you have a very specific style or flowers in mind, don't be afraid to incorporate more budget friendly flowers like carnations or flowers that are in season. I went this route and asked for lots of greenery, which not not only made our flower arrangements look fuller but also helped me stay in budget. Or like Chelsea said, non-flower centerpieces can also save you a bundle Smiley smile

I replied in the other discussion you made about the cost for bouquets and boutonniere's. I am unsure about flowers for the tables etc, as we are doing non flower centerpieces to reduce the cost a little bit.
