What are people’s thougts on them? Are you doing them? If you are/did what did you do, how much did you spend? Did anyone do a donation to a cause instead? Just looking for ideas.

We are planning on doing favors! We are giving them 2 macroons in a mesh bag! We are making the macroons ourselves so its low cost... Just time consuming! Smiley smile

You say potato - I say tomato I guess.

I figure no matter what you chose there will be people that aren't too fond of the favours. One thing I think we agree on though is the fact that favours are not a must - but A MUST! lol

I hear you on the candy bar and have mixed feelings about it - BUT I do think it depends on how it's done. We went to a friends' wedding where they had a candy bar as their favour, and they literally had 4 small bowls (less than what I'd put out for a kids birthday party). There wasn't enough for everyone to have some, let alone pick and choose what they want.

We are doing a candy bar, but I want to make sure that people enjoy it as their favour - My goal is to make all the kids (and some of the adults) LOSE THEIR MINDS when they see it.

Right now, my candy bar is shaping up to be 12 feet long, have over 25 containers of different candy (I'm planning on over 140 pounds of candy for our 200-250 guests), plus cotton candy and chocolate bars. I want the adults to literally feel like a kid in a candy store.

I don't consider things for them to use at the wedding (Flip flops, sparklers, etc) to be favours, but that's just me.

Oh ya! Very common for the weddings that I have attended - they use the quote "Love is in the air" for them Smiley tongue

I can’t believe airfreshner is a thing!! I’ve never heard of that but that seems strange.

I think favours are a MUST and we will absolutely be giving them out to our guests. I dabbled in the idea donating on behalf of our guests, however, it was pointed out to me that not everyone supports the same causes and that idea was quickly scrapped.

I like the idea of food favours since the majority of people will eat them (either at the wedding or afterwards), and it eliminates the "clutter" issue.

I think favours are an important way to say 'thank you' - I also think it's important not to give them something they're just going to throw away.

We aren't doing traditional favours - we are doing a giant (I'm talking over 140 POUNDS of candy spread over 12 feet of tables!) candy bar. Each seat will have a paper bag with Thank You! on it; they can fill it with their choice of candy to take home. They also can nibble throughout the evening.

I think we will be doing favours for the guests but as to what we will give... I have no clue. My coworker is doing shot glasses which I absolutely love! But I was thinking that for mine we could do a bottle opener or something. No matter what, I want it to be useful and not just another trinket with our names and wedding day on them that people will throw away.

I like the idea of a donation and if I were to attend a wedding where they did that (as long as there was a reason for choosing a specific charity) I would be fine with it.

The only favours that I don't like getting at weddings are car air fresheners and of course the dreaded candy bar. The air freshener gets thrown away after a day and that's only if you like how it smells. And the candy bar is a cop-out IMO. It's like saying "Oh, shoot - forgot the favours... here! Take your dessert home with you as one!"

Here are some that I was considering just because they are useful:
