Wedding dj

Do you think "you get what you pay for" when it comes to a DJ?

I have found some that charge $2000 and some that charge $800-1200.

I am just afraid if I get the cheaper one, the experience won't be the same..

Reviews seem to be very good still.

Just more difficult as I am planning a wedding in another province so you can't just go and meet the vendors lol

I would read the reviews of the dj's. Sometimes cheaper is better!

My fiance and I have gone with a DJ that was $775 for the Platinum package for our upcoming wedding! He will be with us for the ceremony and reception for a total of 8 hours. All of the reviews have been amazing and even our venue had a recommendation for him as well.

Expensive doesn't automatically mean better. When I was shopping, some DJs were quoting me $7000+ and constantly trying to upsell me. A friend ended up signing them and they've had a terrible experience so far (and the wedding hasn't even happened yet!).

You can always request a virtual chat with them to get a feel for their team.

By the way, with all this uncertainty around covid, I would hold off on hiring a DJ. It would suck to pay so much if dancing is not allowed.

I would read reviews. I wouldn’t say cheaper is always worse, AMV charges a reasonable price for DJ, and they are incredible. We attended a friends wedding and they decided to just use the DJ that the venue provided... let’s just say it was not a good music experience. And he interrupted their first dance with a “joke”.

I only paid $1 K and had an amazing DJ for a small wedding. He was an MC too for the evening. I would go by the reviews to know they are good for what they offer.

I agree. I like going by reviews. You could also ask if they are okay with a Skype or zoom meeting if want to meet them face to face.

I say if the cheaper one has good reviews go for it. Maybe even ask them if they have a pervious client you can contact and ask them questions?
