I loved the hair, and the makeup does look really good in pictures, but its A LOT lol

I have a different makeup artist for my wedding, so I will for sure be more specific with her

You do look beautiful but that's not natural whatsoever. Maybe consider doing another trial to try to get it right, or else you might have to find a new makeup artist. The hair looks so good tho!

One very important thing to keep in mind with makeup and photography - you will always have much heavier makeup on for photography in order for any of it to show up on camera. You also want to look at it in natural light versus bathroom light, because that will also wash it out and make it less 'heavy and dark'. Also - bathroom (and most indoor lights) are above the head, and that causes eyeshadow to appear darker than it would in natural/photography light because of the fact that our brows protrude slightly, and so cast a shadow over our eyelids.

I think you look fantastic, I definitely think this falls in the realm of 'natural' for photography makeup, though slightly on the more dramatic eyes, but definitely not anything I would question, personally.

These are my idea's of what I would like for my day, maybe not that exact hair style but I want something that is more pulled back but still down. This way its not to hot on my face but still thick look and curls of hair.wedding makeupwedding hairstyle

I don't think it was too much, but it was definitely not what I would say is a natural look. I would think that if you are after a more natural look what I wear is some tinted BB cream and put translucent setting powder on top for foundation. Then I curl the lashes (mine are long but feel free to go with some light falsies), add a pinkish nude lip colour and some mascara!

From there see what you would want to enhance a little more such as eyeshadow, blush, and bronzer.

I do think the makeup is a little more than what most would consider "natural" but it's not too heavy either! You and your FH are probably not as used to you with makeup on. Maybe for the trial, ask your MUA if she can tone down the eye look a bit so you can compare.

For me, I tend to go bold when I do wear makeup and I plan to bring along Pinterest inspo pics as well as pics with me with makeup I did so they know this is the level I'm trying to achieve.

For the second go around, I am bringing pictures of myself at previous events, when I did my own makeup, and emphasizing that I want to look like myself. Also, put your foot down if you need to - my mUA is a highlighter/contour queen, and I personally don't like too much contouring, and really likes massive fake lashes, so this time, I'm telling her explicitly, no extra long lashes and no over the top contouring.

I think it's definitely more than natural, but it's not too either - you look great! I have a lot of friends who are makeup artists and I just think their idea of what natural or minimal makeup is differs from the rest of us I'm going for a natural look too, and total disclosure, the trial was a bit of a disaster. I'm doing an emergency second trial on Friday, hoping it goes better this time.
