Youll have no issues finding vendors for sure. i think for thursday you could probably get the vendors more cheaper than if you did it on the fri sat or sun!!

I would think it might change the prices a bit as some vendors and their staff may be taking vacation or they might need to pay overtime for the holiday.


I would worry more that guests might be away for the holiday or that they would work the Friday morning after the wedding.
A lot of people go away for holiday long weekends so hotels and accomodations may be harder to get for out of town guests too.
It's definitely worth looking into though, I might be wrong!

It may make the prices higher since they will have to pay their employees time and a half being a holiday. You would have to find out from the venue itself.

I'd reach out to some venues that are interesting to you!! Maybe some of your vendors such as photographer and make up.

I wouldn't think the base price would increase due to a stat holiday but it may overall because they may have to pay their staff time and a half due to the holiday?

Just thinking over the situation - make up artists or photographers, depending on if it's their side hustle or not, may not be available?

Also to echo Tori, we would have to work on the Friday as well. We only get the actual holiday off.

I'm not sure about pricing - but I do know that since Canada Day falls on a Thursday in 2021 you may run into the problem of most people having to work the next day since it won't be a long weekend? At least the way my work is they give the day itself off and then the day prior we get to leave 2 hours early. So this year since it falls on a Wednesday we get to leave work early on the Tuesday, get the Wednesday off, and then are to be back at work on the Thursday and Friday unless we book it off with vacation time.
