Hello Everyone.

So I've been trying to find the perfect affordable venue for my ceremony and reception. Wanted to keep it one location to avoid travel cost and easier for out of towners. The thng is, since we are tight on budget we cant just take any place. This I can live with. But what really bothers me is the fact I want a small wedding, 45 people in ttl max, and I get kindly rejected left right and center becasue most places in Montreal, Quebec need a minimum of 100 or more guests. I have found 2 places that seem great (visiting them next week). L'Ambroisie et L'Espace Canal and The University Club of Montreal. I am just ranting here but I get they need a certain income from a wedding. I dont want to feel like Im getting the second best here because I have less guests.

Has this frustration happen to anyone?

Cheers,

Stephanie

That's so furstrating! I would try searching for "elopement packages" at venues, I found a few gorgeous wineries in my area, but I couldn't book them because they had a 50 person MAX! (and we're looking at about 80). Also, if you are willing to move your date into the off-season, most venues are willing to change their minimum. The room I'm in at my venue has a 90 person minimum in peak season, but only 60 in the off-season (which they consider April "winter")

That sounds lovely! I tried emailing the culteral centers around me but they seem to never check there inbox. No phone number to ask to the price etc. Trust me, Id rather get married there since its like 3min drive from my place and can do the wedding just outside. I should try and email them again though. It is a lovely spot.

Smaller wedding here too, although we are a bit more at 75. Have you tried unconventional spots like restaurants or parks? Most reception halls / golf courses etc. Are definitely designed for larger guest lists and has a price tag to match.
We are getting married at a city run community Centre and the reception is at a local restaurant!
