Wedding And Vendor Insurance

Kelsea, on January 13, 2022 at 18:12 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

Has anyone ever purchased any vendor/wedding insurance to have incase a vendor or venue cancels at the last minute leaving you with thousands of deposits paid? (Especially if the venue cancels and you are unable to have your wedding that day/year/location and end up losing out on the deposits paid to all other vendors!)

I had considered this option until seeing the prices which weren't less than $1K and got me thinking if its worth for a small wedding. I can see it for a big wedding though the Covid claus has been added now and no way to get around it.

So I was looking into Insurance here in Ontario and found out that because of Covid no companies are offering cancellation insurance anymore, only liability insurance. They lost so much money that at this point they won’t offer it. I really wanted to get it to be safe of course but now it makes me more nervous with no safety net for my deposits etc 😩

PAL is the typical one but there's also a new product called Duuo. Front Row, who typically provides insurance for the entertainment industry, also has wedding insurance.

No one I know has insured the wedding vendors/dates serviced but I think this is an awesome idea. Know tooo many brides and grooms who have had mishaps that cost them a lot of $$$$s

I would do it if you're booking far in advance. It also covers you in case someone at your party gets into trouble after having too much to drink.

Just a note though, insurance won't cover you if the venue cancels on you due to covid and your other vendors can't accommodate the new dates.
