Walking down the aisle

Courtney, on September 18, 2018 at 14:50 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 2
I'm walking down the aisle to This Secret Wedding from Braveheart (the David Arkenstone version) and I just don't know how long to wait before actually walking down the aisle once the song has started? How long is too long? 20 seconds? 30?

Are you planning on having your party walk before you to this song or a different one? It also depends on which moments in the song you want played. Depending on the length of the aisle and your speed will dictate how much of the song plays. If you just want it to start, you walk and it ends when you get there, I'd give 10-15 seconds for attention, then start your walk. Usually a count of three after everyone's up and looking is a good pause for effect.

There isn’t a perfect time to start walking. I waited until the pastor asked everyone to stand before going so the song had probably played for 30 secs by that point. The bridesmaids I asked them to wait a little bit longer because I wanted them to enter at a crescendo for their song.
