Waiting on engagement ring to be resized

Unfortunate. Spence called back today and said it will take an additional week so a total of 4 weeks.....

My ring was custom made and even though we gave them a ring i wore on my other middle finger (sz 3.5-4) they made the ring a size 6. I sent my ring back to the brand/designer 2 times and it was still too big. The ring sizers in-store weren’t accurate since they were a thicker band and my band was so thing that it affects the sizing. Finally the brand/designer got it close enough to where the in-store ring-smith could adjust it to the perfect size.

My fiance bought a 5 and I'm also a 4.5. Mine was sent away for about 10 days because the stones on the sides meant that a specialist jeweler had to do the work.


We waited until most of our friends and family had been told so by then I was used to the ring on my finger so I bought a cheapy stand in ring at Claire's so my finger wasn't naked.

Mine went to get resized two days after he proposed to me and they said 1-2 weeks but it took the full 2 weeks and than they didn't make it the correct size it was suppose to be that they had wrote down so it just went to get sized again a few days ago, now waiting another 2 weeks lol.😔
Hopefully when I get it next it will be right this time!

Also to add in my finger size had to go down a lot too for the ring and they didn't say anything about making a new ring ( small fingers here too hahaa)

I had mine resized from a 6 to 5.75, not a huge jump, but it took almost a month for me to get my ring back. This was also all pre COVID.

So your delay could be because of that! Just depends on the store.

I also had mine resized from 7 to a 4 or 4.5. They told me the same thing. The diamonds on the side of the band would pop off if they didn’t remake the entire thing. When it came back, it looked exactly the same and fits great! It sucks to be without an engagement ring when you first get it.. but it’s worth the wait!

I went through the exact same thing with my engagement ring 2 and a half years ago. My fiance had gotten my ring sized as a 5.5 when he purposed and I was actually 4.5. I believe it took my jewelry store 2 weeks for them to resize mine since my band was very thing to begin with. When I got it back it looked exactly the same!

Since they're remaking it vs resizing it, it should look proper. At least the jeweler is transparent about the process!

Yeah I’ve been though this with other rings. Because the steepness of the curvature changes, it changes the whole basket settings. I’m glad they were able to get it restructured for you and that it’ll look the same as it was!
