Vintage Wedding Style!

Ashley, on August 10, 2022 at 08:20 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 7

I'm really into the high-low dress style. But they are IMPOSSIBLE to find in my area!!!

Should I get a backup style?

But this is just so beautiful!

I can get around that. My Partner is American, and I'm usually there longer than 72 hours when I visit. It all depends on where the dress is from.

The only thing about shopping in the states is that you'll have to pay duty, and those rates are not something you can calculate beforehand and budget for. Just something to keep in mind.

I think it's a great idea to make a weekend out of it Smiley smile That way, you can try on the style you have in your head, and a few others (you'd be shocked how many brides go in with a dress or style in mind and get something completely different). It's also a fun time with your mom, sister, future MIL, and a chance to further bond.

I was speaking to my sister, maybe next summer we will go to a few stores in the USA and make a weekend out of it. That way my future mother-in-law can join us too.

I remember going wedding dress shopping with my sister, and she let them know what style she was looking for even before going to her appointments so that helped.

Is travelling to dress shop an option? Like make a weekend trip to one of the major cities and spend one of the days looking at different bridal shops?

At the least you can try to find a David's Bridal in one of the major areas. Even if they don't have it in stock, they can order it via an online catalogue. You'd just have to go back every now and then for alterations etc.

We don't have too many where I live (small town). I'll have to do some research. I saw some on Etsy that I liked. Maybe I could contact the sellers with my measurements and make sure they leave room for alterations if need be.

I would maybe see if there is a local seamstress that could make a dress for you!

You could also look online and order one, and if its not exactly what you want you can continue looking in person.
