My fiancée is really big into videogames, and all we're doing are these 2 elements at our wedding. I'm a pegan, but aren't having a religious ceremony since his family is super catholic. So instead we're using tarot cards are table markers.


I'm a Karaoke/DJ & that's how we met, so we're also composing our vows completely of love song quotes.
You don't have to worry about subtly slicing in multiple multiple aspects, just focus on 1 to 3 small things that can be seamlessly weaved in without standing out of place and it'll be great!

I heard about this on the Betches Brides podcast and they basically make you into video game characters in this game that is at your wedding reception for guests to play.

Maybe get something like this as a cake topper? My fiancé and I are big video game nerds but we don't wanna do a nerdy theme so we are doing this for the cake

My fiancé and I are planning a Kingdom Hearts themed wedding; we both love the series dearly. We are having an overall theme of romantic whimsy, with little touches that are specific references to the games. Each of tables is going be themed after different worlds from the game, we’re going to play the loading/save menu music for when guests start arriving, we gave each of our wedding party shirts that I designed with references to the games, part of my wedding outfit will have references. That kind of thing, we’re both super excited about it☺️

I would definitely say to add touches and not create an entire thematic from video games. The suggestions and inspiration commented so far is gorgeous and keeps it classy -- I especially love the "I cannot control my love for you" backdrop! The topper is very cute and simple... personally, I find the ones where it's like your FH's "life" or "game" is over because he's going to be your partner forever a little distasteful. You guys are in love and lucky to have each other, not burdened! LOL

Here are a few ideas you might like to incorporate:

Inner ring inscriptions are super cute too, like "Player One" and "Player Two" or "It's Dangerous to Go Alone".

Im thinking about using 8 bit style hearts as some decorations or as a backdrop like this photo! Or even have a backdrop like the other photo... though dunno how budget friendly that would be.

I like the idea of hiding character though! Not necessarily making it into a game but them just being everywhere subtly

My cousins named their tables different places they have been. Maybe you could name your tables some of his favourite characters. Have you thought of doing a grooms cake? You could have one made to represent his fave games. What are some of his favourites? Some of them have beautiful aesthetics and may actually add do the beauty of your wedding. You could also do a cute game of find the character or something and just hide them all over the venue. Like stick a tiny picture of like zelda in the ladies bathroom on the mirror, and put dovakin in the men's bathroom, ect. If you have signage you could put them in a little corner. You could put them anywhere you wanted and it would be so fun for guests to try and find them all.

You could do a video game themed cake topper if you wanted it to be super subtle.
Maybe something for centrepieces? If he has a favourite game or system

I have seen a couple people on here who did - they may have created a discussion or two so I would say to try searching in the search bar.

My ideas:

table names could be either game names or console names

groom cake could say "GAME OVER"

regular wedding cake could have it switch to "2 PLAYER MODE"

on schedule board you could have the ceremony of "achievement unlocked - married" or something or as you enter the reception that is how you could be announced
