Venues!!

Tradingabyss, on November 29, 2017 at 23:29 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 11
Does anyone have any advice on how to search for venues? I know what I'm looking for and I keep googling but the more I talk to people the more suggestions I hear that I haven't found on google. I just don't want to miss out on any good venues! Thanks!!

    Have you tried wedding shows!?

Another thing I did was looked at local photographers: usually their sites have blogs, which show weddings in certain local venues. You can really get a good picture of what they look like all done up that way.

Wedding Wire venues are listed by us indicating the place of our choice. As for research, my husband showed me a place not too far drom home and included everything we wanted. Wedding set up and break down, cocktail hour, sit down meal, wine service, and lete night buffet. Plus side is the open bar. Look into venues nearby you too compare what is included and what is extra, then narrow down and choose the 2 and try to bargain about adding things they may have for center pieces instead of buying.

I saw a very extensive list of venues on wedding wire as well. We were already looking for a venue where we wouldn’t need to rent anything, as we live in Ontario and we are getting married in Alberta, so hotel venues really worked out well.

Nonetheless, you can always google something like “wedding space” and the place you live in. Good luck!

Just so you know, vendors and venues can list themselves for free on WeddingWire! Any vendor can have their business listed, so you should find a variety of types and prices in there. Sorry you weren't able to find the perfect place yet!

The venues on wedding wire must be sponsors? They all seem like hotels or really expensive places, i have definitely looked through them all, thanks for your advice!

I just tried googling "places to get married near me" when we got engaged, lol. I got hit with a lot of places in Michigan though because of my proximity. The area where I live is getting popular for wineries and winery weddings are really taking off as an alternative to the traditional church & hall wedding. My best advice would be to picture your ideal venue and try looking for places locally that fit the bill. I think there is also a venue search on this website, which may be a good jumping off point. Wedding shows are great too, since a lot of venues and vendors will be there to give out information.

Definitely ask the wedding Facebook groups in your area as they have an insight around where you live! That's my recommendation! And ask people around! Maybe ask tourist booths/areas and ask as they are trained in recreation and should know good areas where they can be held! Hope that helps!!
