Venue don't respond

Emily, on February 22, 2022 at 11:20 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7
I've been trying to find the venue for our wedding, it will be in July 2023 so I'd like to secure a place soon since that is in peak wedding season. I found a place that looked perfect, fit our budget and everything, talked to them through this app in December and they asked if we would like to view the venue before Xmas or in the new year. Obviously the holidays are busy plus my son's birthday is right before Xmas so I told them in the new year would work better and they said they would connect with me in January. I messaged them again January 11th excited to get things started and they still haven't messaged me back! I even sent them an email using the email they have on their website and they don't respond. Is this a red flag that this isn't a good place to have my wedding?

Vendors at this time may not respond as quick as to getting answers. Its a hard time for them since they may be dealing with couples rescheduling dates and/or not checking emails as often. Calling direct seems to be the approach to talk to the owner and scheduling a visit.

In the meantime, other venues you may have considered, you can also call around to see if they are available if your not getting any call backs or email responses.

Give them a call instead of email ! Maybe they don’t use their email as much!

Keep in mind, venues in Ontario were under lockdown again during the Christmas season until just recently. And with that, maybe their coordinator staff were laid off until things picked up again. Now with the current reopening announcement, they're probably scrambling to upgrade everyone's Spring 2022 wedding to pre-covid standards.

Not a good excuse but that's likely the reason they're not getting back to you. I would try calling and leave a message that you've tried to reach them a few times. If you still don't hear back within the week, I would move on.

Maybe send a follow up email just asking if they've recieved your previous email. If they don't respond to that, you might just have to find some place else

I emailed them from the email they provide on the "contact us" section from their website and still haven't gotten anything back Smiley sad it's been weeks.

Hi Emily. Possibly go to their actual website and see if there an inquire page on their and send a message that way. I know a lot of vendors on weddingwire take a bit more time to reply.

Is there a phone number you can call? I've noticed lately with many vendors it's been long wait times for responses Smiley sad I had emailed a venue like 5 times before and I got no response so I ended up just going with another venue.
