It depends on personal style. Each bride is free to do as she chooses. I’ve decided to go with a single tier fingertip length veil for the ceremony, one that won’t detract from the details in my dress and that can be easily removed for the reception. I like to be classic and versatile. It depends on what makes you feel prettier and completes your personal look.

I see the veil as another accessory - sometimes it completes the look, sometimes you're better off without! I love the classic look and the way they photograph, but I don't like how I look wearing one! I have a nontraditional dress so I thought a veil would help make me look and feel more bridal, but I find it just detracts from the beauty of my dress.

I tried my dress on with and without a veil and I just fell in love without it. At first I was determined to have a cathedral length veil, but my dress has just such amazing detail in the back and along the bottom of the skirt that I cant cover it up, it takes away from the beauty. I will however be wearing a "headpiece", not a tiara but like a pretty bandana or floral embellishment throughout my hair!

Someone once told me without a veil your just a girl in a pretty white dress.....now that being said im not wearing a veil lol its all down to preference really, my wedding is more casual and i just dont feel the need for a veil. My mother in law is ukranian and is making me a traditional flower crown for the ceremony as well so i feel a veil would clash

I go back an forth pretty often on this. I think the veil makes a lot of people feel extra bridal, and it can make a modern dress seem more traditional to older relatives.

If your wedding or bulk of photos are outside I would skip it. The wind can whip it around so it's in your way or smacking people with it. Or at least be prepared to take it off if the day is breezy.

Depends on ones style. I'm not big on veils and don't understand the purpose behind it. However, I'm not the traditional bride. I'm hoping to just have a greenery/ floral crown around my hair just to bring the theme together.

I'm definitely wearing a veil with my dress next summer. It just brings my dress do the next level and completes the look. I bought my veil when I picked up my dress last summer. It's very simple with just jewels around the edges and it's a 3 quarter length just so it doesn't take away from the bottom of my dress
