Veil on a Budget

Marissa, on February 3, 2019 at 18:37 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 15
I'm so excited to have my veil completed, and I wanted to share some pictures! It's exactly what I envisioned, and it only cost ~$40. My mom is handy with a sewing machine and was able to make it this weekend. We picked out the tulle, trim and comb together. I was really disappointed with how expensive simple tulle veils were in the stores, so I'm glad we decided to go the DIY route.

Wow your mom is so talented! It doesn't look DIY whatsoever!

Thank you! I owe all the credit to my mom. I'd say that if you are going with a tulle veil with raw edges (no trim), it might be worth a shot to try making one. I think the fabric by itself was about $15, and all you would have to do is cut out an oval and stitch (or glue) it to a comb.

It looks great! I don't know how much mine cost - Dad payed for it, but I can imagine that it cost way more than what it costs to make :/

It's a circle veil and it's folded in two. I wanted a nice full veil since my dress is a ballgown shape.
