Using props in your engagement shoot

Joey, on April 12, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Before the wedding 0 18

How are you making your engagement pictures extra special? Will you have any props to set the scene? Will they reflect your wedding's theme, or maybe one of your hobbies and interests?

Will you bring along some signs?Using props in your engagement shoot 1

My mother in law made us a sign to use and we totally forgot it until she pointed it out after the pictures 😆

I want to have a couple pictures with us wearing our hockey jerseys! We both love hockey and cheer for different NHL teams so place a bet whenever they play each other!

We had a little sign that said "She said yes" or "I said yes" and that was it.

We didn't use any props. I thought about it but felt awkward enough as it was haha.

We had pictures done in fields of wild flowers though, so we didn't really need any props!

These are such cute ideas! I subscribed to the MissToMrs Box, and the first one came with two big foil balloons, one's a diamond ring, and one says "love". We may use those.

Otherwise I think we will rely on the setting for the photos.

We did ours in a bookstore! So of course we had to use a book to show off the ring!

Not really a prop but we are doing a shoot in Graffiti Alley in Toronto! It's a few back alleys of super bright and amazing graffiti by various artists and I just love the colours and the city atmosphere! I've never really been a fan of being in some wilderness for photos. Just not for me!

I do want to get my dog into some photos tho I think that would be cute! So does she count as a prop? Hahah!

We used props to showcase who we were as individuals as well as how we met!

We met on Tinder so we used a "Love at first swipe" sign

I'm a nurse and he's an engineer so we used textbooks from school.

We did pictures on the farm and I think that reflects our theme since the wedding will be out there too. For a little something extra and fun we popped champagne. Smiley smile

We used a suitcase and took some pictures outside of the airport as our theme was travel. The rest of the photos used natural props like trees or park benches.

    We chose no props.
simplistic beauty of where we took the photos made it perfect.

I have no idea if we're going to use props tbh. All depends on where we decide to take the pictures.

We brought our flasks with some of our favorite whiskeys and got some photos with them and they were super cute!
Also we had to hike to get to our location which was fitting because our first time ever hanging out just the 2 of us was a hike.

I was considering wearing the color of my bridesmaids for the photo's and keeping same theme (rustic) in the photo's as well. We were going to use a sign for our date with our dog as well.
