Ushers

So I had a last minute thought, do you neccesarily have to have ushers? I'm having a "Pick a seat" sign and only having a first row reserved for both our families.

Our ceremony is at 4pm on a Friday, we aren't expecting our full guest list to make it that early so we are letting them pick their own seats

No ushers were assigned at our wedding and the first row is always for the family as some of my cousins had reserved them for the wedding party each side.

I wasn’t planning to have any, I think I’ll have something marking where our parents sit but beyond that I don’t care where anyone sits lol

We are not having ushers or a sign either. I feel like our guests can find their own seats

We did assigned seating but it was during covid so we bubbled people accordingly. Our groomsmen acted as our ushers. When we originally planned for a winter indoor wedding, the ushers would've also made sure no one stepped their wet muddy feet on the white aisle walker but that became moot once we switched outside. They were also reminding people not to bust out their phones during the ceremony.

We're having two of my fiances groomsmen walk our moms down before they take their place at the front but that's it as far as usher go. We're also doing "pick a seat not a side" seating.

We aren't using ushers just saving the front row for the parents and grand parents. I am having the FIL's go out before the groom, then the groomsmen, the groom, the bridesmaid me and my dad then MOH to make sure my dress is flawless in the back Smiley winking

I've always found them a bit useless lol. If there's specific seats for some people just ask someone to point them in the right direction.

My fiance and I aren't using one and I don't think it's necessary. Guests can find their own seats for the ceremony
