Ontario has a few different names for Wedding Social.

Buck & Doe/Stag & Doe/Jack & Jill are the terms used here and held the same way. It also depends on how many people your getting to your event and how much is raised from the ticket sales and actual event. Some brides have taken upon the Bridal shower social for monetary gifts opposed to actual gifts if your living together. Something to consider if you choose to take this route during your planning.

A wedding social is to raise money for having the wedding actually. Most, if not all Manitobans have one. They are usually in the spring as wedding season is the summer and fall for the most part. So my social was March 29th, but my wedding will be on October 5th. When weddings cost on average $30,000 - socials are for sure the way to raise money for one!

Okay ill admit that sound more harder then planning a wedding that is forsure… and a social wedding im assuming if you don't want a wedding

It's a big party that is usually from 8-1am and includes booze, dancing, 50/50, perfume draw, and of course raffle prizes ranging from worths of $250, $500, and over $1,000.
