Trying to Go paperless on Invitations: Good or Bad?

Patricia, on July 4, 2019 at 10:49 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10
Hello everyone,

Can anyone give me ideas on how to save for my invitations and save the date. My fiancé and I were thinking of going paperless to save some money. Or is it a bad idea and still send out a simple invitation and can rsvp in the wedding website?

Thank you!

100 guests (mostly couples), we ordered 60 invitations and that was plenty! Etsy is pretty affordable and most templates are customizable, and vistaprint always has a deal on!

If you're unsure about the quality, you can always order your free wedding sample, which usually includes a discount code!

Thanks Valerie. I will check Etsy and vistaprint. How many guests did you have?

You could email the save the dates (evite or paperless post) for free!

As for the invites, we did a paper invitation (template from Etsy - super cheap, prints from vistaprint - envelopes are included) with an online RSVP on our wedding website for all of our guests. So far, so good!

The only guest we were "worried" about was my FH's 98-yo grandfather. My FH's dad RSVP'd for him, but at least he got an invitation in the mail.

I agree that if you do paperless, send print ones to those who are not tech savvy, or grandparents who like the physical keepsake of an invitation

Thank you! That is true I should also send paper RSVP to the elderly. I did not think of that.

For the most, paperless invites and less wastage/postage to worry about. Elder generation paper to ensure they can call or send the RSVP card back to you.

Thank you Tori. I was thinking of giving paper invitations to the older aunts and uncles. Our parents then print one for ourselves to go in our scrapbook.

I would say that it's a fine idea - just maybe print some off for those who are older/technology impaired Smiley winking
