True or False? - I have had a zilla moment

Joey, on December 3, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in WeddingWire 0 28

Even the most chilled out wedding planners get overwhelmed from time to time. Did you hit a planning wall and zilla out? Does one particular aspect of wedding planning bring out your bridezilla or groomzilla side? Has decision-fatigue caused you to have a meltdown or two? No shame if you have! We understand that all too well.

True or False? - I have had a zilla moment

False!! I have no energy for people who are going to drain me! I just limit contact and keep on swimming.

False, but i am saving my bridezilla card for the day of in case any of the drama llama family members on either side try something nasty. I will drag you out of the reception area and zilla-out if needed. No bluffing and my MOH and FH are aware of this. Hopefully, I will not have to use it

I may do it once just to say I can. I don't see it happening

True, I'm good with everything except one subject: family drama in relation to the guest list. I've lost it a couple times when people ask me too much about it and I don't have the answer.

I guess True. Not like, yelling at anyone, meltdown meltdown.... but like, pouting, or just breaking down, or ranting to my mom about how stupid people are... haha.

I wouldn’t say a bridezilla moment but I’ve had to repeat myself and remind my FH that we had agreed not to skimp out on photography. We were $1000 over our budget and he wanted to “keep looking” and I got really stressed out about having to re-start the search. So we will save in other areas to make up the cost!

False- I think the closest I got was when our first photographer bailed on us, and even then I feel my reaction was more than fair

False. I keep it mostly together around my mother or FMIL when planning. I've kept all my "bridezilla" moments to myself.

True. I'm not having the wedding of my dreams (which would have been a city hall elopement with a family dinner), so when I was told I couldn't be trusted to pick music for the wedding because of my "unusual tastes" (my FH and his family distrust anything not on the Top 40 pop charts), I put my foot down and went full bridezilla. It's not like I intend on headbanging at my wedding (unfortunately), but I will be playing some music that I like listening to, while being mindful of the guests, of course (no Sex Pistols darn it)

I think false.. I don't think I've had a Zilla moment but I've definitely had moments where I knew exactly what I want and how but never really crossed the line to bridezilla..yet..

True- I have, but only in front of my FH and my mom. Only a little bit though. Decision about what to do for food was tough, my mom wanted a catered meal like buffet but my FH just only wanted pizza or subway to cut costs.

I haven't quite gotten to a zilla moment, but I have had to be firm with my mom, and one of my bridesmaids (I needed to know something by a certain day and she was closely approaching my deadline).

I will probably get decision-making fatigue or planning fatigue and have a breakdown because you spend so much time thinking about something (i.e. centrepieces) and someone will come and say they don't really care for it.

False. I think I’m pretty chill normally and I don’t feel like I lost any of that during the planning process. A lot went wrong and we just rolled with it!

False, We still have a bit of time before the wedding. So up until now the planning has been just between my parents and my FH. It has been very smooth!

I am embarrassed to say that this is true, but only in front of my fiance. I really wanted more of a pop of colour for our tables than just white table cloths and he was in my mind not taking it seriously and I lectured him on the importance of the right table cloths. And I've venting to him about potential vendors ignoring us and not getting back to us because we're planning early and how that's unprofessional.

I had my first one a week ago, when one of my bridesmaids tried to tell me a dress I pinned on my board for the bridesmaids was ugly and she was NOT wearing that. It wasn't even the dress I chose! It was literally just a PIN. I said you don't have to, I can sit you somewhere else and you can wear whatever you want as a regular guest.

I'm not sure if this counts, but I told our parents to back off. It was starting to become their day and not ours, which was making us pretty sad and frustrated about the wedding.

I really don't think I have yet (and I hope that I won't!), but I have definitely put my foot down quite firmly on a few things. Absolutely no one-shoulder dresses for the girls. Definitely had to be on a particular date. Absolutely wanted a shorter dress. I consider myself more particular than Bridezilla-ish.

So far so good! I had a moment while I was waiting patiently for a vendor to get back to me about some details and I started stressing over it... but then I realized that why stress out over a vendor? So I switched! Found someone else who seems to be more interested in my money and helping us!

So far nope. I don’t intend to have one.
I’ve been listening to the Bridechilla podcasts and consider myself to be an unconventional bride.
It’s all good...no need to worry and stress.
    That’s our plan/intention.
