Tips can be in the form of gifts in lieu of cash.

The vendors can be tipped depending on their service. I had made up Thank you Cards for the vendors personally as they didn't get any tips weren't given. The only one I gave was the venue for all what was and having to deal with the day celebration.

I have always heard that if the vendor owns the business you don't need to tip, but if they have staff you tip.

I'm planning on tipping our venue staff, and getting our photographer and baker a gift in lieu of a tip.

Same I’d rather it just be included so it’s not another thing I have to think about!

This is good to know. Thanks!
One hair and makeup vendor I heard back from adds gratuity if there’s 5 or more people in the party. I’d prefer if it was included because sometimes I feel clueless on how much to tip!

If they're a sole proprietor, you don't tip them as they set their own rates and therefore pocket all earnings. If they work for someone else who sets their wages, you should tip. This goes regardless of vendors. A photographer could be solo or work with a studio/company employing many photographers. Same with DJs, hair stylists, makeup artists, officiants etc.

I also would like to know!! I’ve heard for photographers if they have their own studio no need to tip. Hair and makeup tip same as you would at hairdresser.

I don’t have all my vendors booked yet. I know the cake doesn’t have tip included. It would super convenient and less awkward if it was included.

Is it included in your contracts? If the gratuity is included in your contracts, you don’t need to tip twice. I’d double check your pricing to see if your vendors accounted for tipping.
