Timeline help

Cheryl, on December 12, 2016 at 19:34 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8
I'm having a hard time finding timeline helpers as our ceremony starts at 11:30am and our reception ends around 6pm. Does anyone have any tips? What does your timeline look like? I'd greatly appreciate the help!!

It's not even very obvious on the other one oddly enough!! But I found it super helpful! ...weird that it removed my hyperlink. Here it is again for anyone else looking Wedding Day Timeline Generator https://mktg.weddingwire.com/ideas/wedding-timeline/?utm_source=image&utm_medium=uberflip&utm_campaign=spring15

Hi Cheryl Smiley heart I think Samtam gave you great advice! Since your wedding will be mostly family and in a familiar environment, I don't think you have to worry about a rigourous timeline.

You can still have a look at this chart to get an idea of what you could include how you can organize things for your big day (just replace Lunch by Breakfast and that will give you an idea) Smiley winking :

Will you do the pictures before or after the ceremony? Smiley smile

That sounds great! You can probably just figure out a general order for now of when you want to do things and then as it gets closer, put in more definite times. Nothing ever goes exactly on time so the general order is the most important part anyways!

We really aren't having vendors, it's awesome you remembered that!! He should be there just before the ceremony, we'll be talking more with him next month. We want the ceremony to be pretty short, half hour at maximum I think. She and her friend are my friends, it'll just be casual photos and we don't really want to be too thorough. Basically a cocktail/appy meal. We want the first dance and mother daughter, etc dances. Nothing other than the dances, we don't feel the need for anything else. Thank you so much for the help!

I think from your other posts that you're not having a lot of vendors but if you are, you could reach out to them to see how much time they need for things to help plan your timeline. Like what time is your officiant arriving? About how long will the ceremony be? Do you have a photographer? If so, they should be able to tell you how long you'll need for getting ready pictures, portraits with you two and the wedding party after the ceremony, etc. Are you doing a full dinner or just cocktail? What traditional aspects are you looking to include like cake cutting, first dance, bouquet toss, etc?

Wedding Wire should have some sample timelines somewhere. You can try The Knot as well. I am an event planner so our timeline was very detailed and had the exact times for when everyone was getting their hair and makeup, when pictures were, what time dinner was served, when the first dance was, etc. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
