This is my beautiful gown, I cried when I put it on and I cried when I took it off. This was the most beautiful gown on the rack as far as I was concerned, my 87 year old mother cried with me on this day realizing her little girl was all grown up. She bought this wonderful gown for me for a whopping $750 dollars if my mind serves me right. I now have to go through the alteration process and to say the least I am terrified to do it.....Did anyone else feel like this? Am I over reacting?

Awe thank you hun the bodice is satin with a silk lining and the skirt is satin lining with vintage lace overlay

If you have family or friends who got married recently in your hometown, ask them which seamstress they used and whether they recommend them. It's one thing to google reviews and another to get it directly from someone you know and trust.

I am absolutely sure you are right. I am just a worry wort and especially right now with the wedding planning the gown stuff and now this darn pandemic. My brain doesn't know which way is up haha. I am mostly worried about the lace I really hope I don't have to loose much of it as it's vintage lace and it's one of my favorite parts of the gown.

Your dress is beautiful on you! I was a bit nervous but the seamstress has been specifically doing bridal gowns for over 25 years! So that helped. Don't be worried!

You pick the right seamstress you won't need to be nervous at all. This is their profession and once it fits you perfectly, all the fears will be put to rest and the dress will be even more magical then before!

It's totally normal to be nervous about having to alter the dress, but rest assured, if you go with an experienced seamstress, your dress is safe and will be even more beautiful when it fits you perfectly! Congratulations on finding THE dress!
