Hi Kate, I would reccomend giving thank you cards to your guests as a common courtesy. Even thought you have requested that they not buy gifts, it's a great way to show your appreciation for them attending your big day.

I would send thank yous to anyone who comes- it is nice to let people know that you were happy they could celebrate with you.

It is also likely that they won't listen and will bring a gift regardless of your request, so best to be prepared and plan on sending thank yous!

Hopefully those who choose to bring a gift will help you upgrade somethings, or give a gift you didn't know you wanted!

I agree that you should send thank you cards to your guests. It can be your way of thanking then for being there and for being important to you.

I would send thank you cards to your guests! They have chosen to take the time out of their busy lives to come celebrate your special day with you and so they will appreciate the nice gesture!

Even though you ask them not to bring gifts, people VERY LIKELY will anyways. So yes, anyone who gives you any form of gitft should receive a thank you card.

I would definately write thank you cards for them coming and most people will bring something even if you say not to.

We asked people to bring a dish to share since we are having a potluck supper or a bottle of wine in lieu of a wedding gift.

I would. For being at your wedding and that it meant a lot to you. I'm sure they would appreciate it plus it's bonus points for you. You feel good after Smiley winking
