Tent Lighting

Kristen, on July 24, 2019 at 18:19 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4
We are having the wedding on our property under a 40ft x 80ft tent (approx. 120 ppl), which will likely have its walls up (September 21st wedding). Right now I have purchased six 50ft strands of 5W G40 globe bulb lights. The plan was to string them 10ft apart across the tent. I’m now worried that won’t be enough lighting. For those doing or have had a similar style wedding with an outdoor tent, what kind of lighting did you have? And was it enough?

Hey there Kirsten! Have you since decided to add some additional lighting?

If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend you speak with the company supplying the tent for their input. They would be familiar with previous events the tent has been rented for and should have some experience and insights to offer!

What you could also do is buy tealights for the tables or some light spike things for around the base of the tent. or both. If you can maybe do a test run one night to see if its enough light. if not you can find alot of light up stakes or electric tealights at dollar stores.

I imagine your talking about string lighting. That idea is ideal since it will be hanging from the top looking nice. Since you have the tent set up by the company, they are knowledgeable too in lighting to guide you if you have enough or need more for what you putting up size wise.

Internet search is also great to get the answer your looking for you purpose. I'm sure it will let you know the size and amount of lights needed.
