Tastings

How soon before your wedding did you do tastings? And was that the first time you met with the venue coordinator at that time?

We got married in August 2017.

We first met the coordinator in April 2016 and booked our date putting the deposit end of June. The tasting was done in March 2017 once selected and emailed for the meals chosen.

We did our tasting in March and our wedding was in August, so approximately 4 months prior. Our venue coordinator started contacting us around January (about 6 months out), and we met her in person in July (one month pre-wedding).

We had ours before booking the caterer, therefore pretty early out, about 13 months before the wedding. After the tasting, we booked the caterer Smiley smile

We had the option of doing ours during the spring or fall. Our wedding is on October 18, but we decided to have it in the spring so I could get our menus and RSVPs done.

Our venue coordinator told us that we'll be doing ours in March and we get married in July.

We're not going until sometime in the new year. (I've already been to a wedding there and had the food). Then we will finalize everything else we need to.

I could also add our venue only does 2 tastings, 1 in the spring and 1 in fall. We were just in Ontario last month and they didnt have the dates. We could do Nov 3rd but now its too close to book reasonable flights, and time off work and we were literally just there....so we have to do spring.

I met my wedding coordinator the first time I went to visit the Venue, & then the day I booked the Venue. I now deal with someone else for questions and request on my wedding day, but my coordinator will come back into play when we go for our taste testing, at which point we will go over all the details of the wedding with our coordinator.

We have a Peter & Paul's Venue, so I am not too worried about the food as I have heard tremendous things about Peter and Paul's & this was the number one reason why we booked!

They have advised me tasting usually happens the year OF the wedding around 3-5 months out. That being said I should hear from them February or March.

We met our venue coordinator the first time we had a meeting there (last October 2018). We've corresponded with her periodically over email since then. We had another meeting with her in July, to go over our package and ask questions about set up and that stuff.

Our tasting is happening in October, which is about 10 months before our wedding. We did this because we are having the food options listed on our invites and their next tasting wasn't until January/February which will cut into us drafting our invites and I didn't want to leave it that late.

We met our venue coordinator early this year. I wanted to get a head start on the decor, and securing the items from them that I wanted.

We had our tasting back in June. Our Venue does a showcase twice a year for people who have booked. But we had been to weddings at our venue before, so we knew the food was good, it was just finalizing our menu.

We had ours I think the third time visiting the venue and it was ages ago like maybe November last year or February this year. Dont remember because we had two because the vegan options weren't good the first time.

We met ours before booking (22 months before) to ask general questions and then again when we booked (20 months) to go over brief details. We didn't meet again until the tasting 4 months in where we discussed further in detail. That meeting definitely put me at ease, but we also planned out what we wanted and confirmed with the venue coordinator.

We're getting married in the same province we live in, but in my hometown (London) which is an 18 hour drive from our current city (Thunder Bay). So I definitely understand wanting to have things planned out far in advance.

Okay thanks! We will be doing ours 5 months in advance I guess and have met with them once. and have gone over brief details of ceremony and reception. However ours is a destination wedding 2 provinces away so myself personally would rather have everything planned now hahaha. I guess I will hold my horses and practice patience lol

We did ours 4 months before the wedding and we met with the coordinator before, but this was the first time we sat down and discussed in detail the ceremony and reception.
