Table seating

How is everyone seating their guests by table? Or by seats? Are couples sitting next to each other? Or across from each other? We have no idea how to seat our guests by tables seems easier and they can sit anywher on the table. Or would it be better and more organized to have guests with their seats already assigned

    Nelly didn't really like the succulent idea. She had her heart set on edible place settings. So we compromised on the mini cupcakes.Our wedding colours are baby blue, white and silver

    And you're right, I'm sure the kids will probably prefer an edible as a placecard. The macaroon would totally be delicious!

    I can't remember... what are your colours for your wedding? Maybe you could have your macaroons in that colour?

    The succulent idea I was thinking about every couple can get one, and the children can get a macaroon. What do you think?

    Yes we already started to assign seats, since our wedding is all family I have just assumed that everyone's coming. We are assigning tables alphabetically, and all the children that are coming to the wedding will be escorting guests to their tables. That way I feel that all of our nieces, nephews and cousins will participate. The ones that are to young to escort guests will be handing out our wedding programs and bubbles at the ceremony.

    Since you're having around 600 guests I think it would be easier to have your seats assigned already!

    You could make a seating chart for instance to give a overview of where every family sits, by table, etc. And even have escort cards at every seat. Smiley smile

    I am definitely assigning seats and having couples sit beside eachother (rather than across). But there are so many dietary restrictions with my guests (vegans, gluten-free, etc) so it is helpful for the venue caterers. I would personally still prefer assigned seating even if that wasn't the case though, I'm just paranoid that a couple would get to the table and the only 2 seats left weren't beside eachother. But I know assigning by table is common, so it's likely not as big of an issue as I think.
