Surprise Wedding "invitations"

Kay, on May 16, 2018 at 11:23 Posted in Before the wedding 0 5

We are having a surprise wedding under the guise of a pre-wedding get together. We are hoping to fly down my partner's son and girlfriend, so we figured an everybody-meet-everybody party is the best way to do it!

I did want to know if I should do up a formal invite, or just send out an evite style invitation? I worry if it is paper, that would seem too wedding-y, especially with how few people we are inviting (less than 20)

Thoughts? My partner has pretty much said whatever I want to do is fine with him (he's not really that indifferent about things... he has opinions on things we need to pick out, decor, etc. he just genuinely wants me to be happy about our wedding day!)

I actually found Paperless Post yesterday when I was searching. They look ADORABLE! I think we will be going with them.

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to word the invitation. We are inviting friends and family members to a restaurant, and I want to ensure everybody knows that we are paying for it, and we don't expect people to pay. Being sneaky is so hard! haha

Evites! I'm all for evites. If you're looking for a suggestion, we used paperlesspost.com and I would recommend them!

I agree with the paper invites being kind of suspicious. I'd definitely do a nice evite. This way it is more likely to stay a surprise.

I would go with the evites and possibly add a read receipt onto them so that you know they got the message just to make sure.

Send out casual invites to guests for the meet and greet evening to make it informal before the big day. This way your guests will know the wedding party and surprise couple.
