Subtle or Statement Centerpieces?

Lynnie, on November 13, 2018 at 14:13 Posted in Wedding reception 0 24

Are you going simple and subtle with your reception centerpieces? Or are you going for sky high with bold colors for a big statement?? Subtle or statement? Smiley flower

Simple! Our whole wedding was simple and minimal so it only made sense to do simple centrepieces. Plus, I like when I actually SEE the people on the other side of the table and don't have to look around a centrepiece!

It's really true; there's no other reason why! (insert my shrugged shoulders here)

Ours will be somewhere in between as I dislike sky high centerpieces, but also don't want them to be so low that they obscure a shorter guest's view.

Our cenrerpeices were subtle and simple to our setting. Lights were placed in vases to give the brightness in the evening.

The actual "cups" that hold the candles are all jewelled up which I loooove~~ we are doing twinkle lights in some tulle wrapped around the bottom of it too!

I'd say right in the middle. Our centrepieces are going to be made up of 2 vases (2 different heights), on a snow white charger plate. The smaller vase (8"H) will have a bit of fake snow and a pillar candle, and the larger vase (12"H) will be filled with the wire string lights, with a ball of pinecones arranged to look like a floral bouquet on top, sprayed probably with a light silver, glitter, or white paint mist to make it shimmer. The 3rd piece to balance it out will be the table number, probably the IKEA frame, painted silver. I did a mock-up in person too, but I only have my Photoshop mock-up Smiley laugh

I'm not sure if you'd consider ours subtle or not - they are short, neutral in colour on a bright blue table cloth (there will also be a mirror; the cardboard is holding the place for this test).

YAAHHH for them including candelabras. that is definitely helpful!

you could even hang crystals/jewels from them too.

Subtle with the size but not colour!

We wanted to do a mix of size but that's expensive!

Subtle! I’m not a fan of statement centrepieces. I’m thinking of something similar to this photo!

Subtle - I've been to weddings where I couldn't see the guests on the other side of the table because of the massive centrepieces.

Our venue actually offers Gold Candelabras for free to use! We will be using them and adding a small bouquet of purple flowers on top! Statement yet simple I think!

    Definitely subtle.

half the tables will have 3 or 4 tall vases (tall as in about 18 inches high). and either have floating candles or fairy lights in them. the other half will have low profile bowls. with a center candle holder. and have a floating candle or fairy lights. decorator may add in crystals or fake white flowers. i'm leaving those details to her.

Subtle. I love high statement ones! But we have to keep them in a hotel for 3 days after the wedding, then a 4 hour drive home. So I needed something easier to transport. This is the inspiration photo for ours from the florist.

Ours will be subtle (i.e. short and simple) but there will still be a pop of colour!
