Stress, nerves or excitement....

Jocelyn, on March 19, 2018 at 20:27 Posted in Before the wedding 0 20
I gave approval to have my invitations printed, custom made mailing labels ordered....and i don't know if im starting to feel nervous or excited....both? maybe.
i've also been working a lot and missing my FH while he's working in Latvia w/ the Cdn. Armed Forces.

how did you deal with the stress of working & planning? gym? journal?

I dont have coverage at work for such things....so i get my FH to massage me when he gets a chance- especially to help alleviate cramping

Yeah I would not be going for massages if my benefits didn’t cover them, or at least I wouldn’t go as often as I do but they really help me relax so I’m happy I have the coverage I’ve never used them as much as I have during this past year of wedding planning lol

Sometimes i treat myself to a shellac manicure (not too often so as to avoid excess damage to my nails!). im not a fan of facials, and spa treatments are something i dont have $$ for.

I like to rest and have days that I just focus on myself. Go for a massage, watch some tv on the couch and coming on here helps too! Going to the gym is helpful to relive stress as well but I haven’t been going much lately 😅

I'm in the excitement stage. I try to be organize as much as I can to help minimize stressful situation down the road. I keep an agenda and write down every details of my planning (meetings w/ vendors/ deposits / etc). I also organize FH schedule (he works midnights) so he and I are on the same page of appointments. Even though I'm doing all the planning, FH has been great of giving advice when I seek it.

I work out on my free time, which is in the morning even if it's only 30 mins. I'm acne prone so I'm driking tons of water and ignoring any pop amd juices. I also been eating clean to maintain my weight. This community also helped me relate with what I'm going through and it's been such a great help.

My fiancé has been very involved so that has helped! I can’t say I’ve felt stressed yet. We have a timeline as to when we want to have things completed, with everything but seating plan done by June 1!) to give us a month of relaxing right before the wedding.

What I’ve started since getting engaged is blog about my planning, Zumba, and a weekly face mask to help with some of the stresses that come with planning.

Usually i bug either my FH via Facebook Messenger/text or I tend to bug my planner who's more likely to give me a more neutral opinion....or i tend to ask the vendor directly for their thoughts.
2/3 of my bridesmaids are family (one's my sis, the other my cousin), so it's easier to influence/change my thought process....

As others have said, this forum is really helpful!

I also talk to my bridesmaids when I need some feedback as well. Luckily, I haven't been TOO stressed. I think I nag my FH a little bit too much about some deadlines but that can't be helped.

I come here to the community when I get stressed, most of my wedding party is single so they can't relate but they are supportive. My one bridesmaid is also engaged so she understands the stress too!

I have a few friends that I talk to about my stress, some aren't even in the wedding party necessarily. The friends who aren't married might not be able to relate to some stuff but can still help with anxiety or stress. if you need more help with the wedding I would try asking some people to help you as well. don't feel like you cant ask the wedding party to do more.

I know what you mean! We all get excited, nervous and stressed when planning. I found it helped coming on here to talk things out and I also remembered to distance myself from it when it got to feeling overwhelming. I also found it good to ask for help instead of trying to do everything myself. Hang in there! You've got this!

WW has been the biggest help! The community is full of people going through wedding planning stress as well, so it's a great outlet.

I've started going to the gym which just makes me feel amazing afterwards, and it's a nice way to forget everything for a couple of hours!

I find the community here helps a lot, I also do runs at times with my dog. Do you have people in wedding party you could talk to? When needing help with anything I either ask questions on here or talk to few people in wedding party and it helps calm me. Sometimes the emotions are hard to tell but I get anxious and sometimes feels like anxiety instead.
