I totally get it! Some venues are extremely pricy! My fiance and I really didn't look at our venues except for the one we have gone with and the price really didn't matter to us since this was really the only place we wanted to get married. I did look afterwards to see what the going price was for venues and such and we're so glad that we did choose the one that we did

AND OMG Yes that is so true!!! Money is here one minute and the next it's gone!

My dream venue. It couldn’t even hold 80 people and the price was almost $35K without decor, without a cake… I was so sad. But I thought “ok bridal shower maybe?!”…. Wrong. So wrong….lol…
After adjusting my expectations, we were able to find our new dream venue For a fraction of the cost with everything included- but I’ll never forget how deflated I felt when I saw that price tag. I love spending money, but I couldn’t justify any of that…. And everything adds up so damn quick lol . One minute you’re on track, next minute, thousands of dollars gone. Poof. 😂

Oh I know what you mean! There's one store here that is catered to the high end dresses and some of them were like $12K

That's so true! Some dresses are really expensive!

I'm so glad I never wanted a veil lol. Even though my hair clip was $100. I think the worst was dress shopping. I just could not justify the prices of them. I ended up ordering online and love my dress. Starting at $1000 almost everywhere and you still needed to get alterations

They are so expensive right? I rather get a custom made one with like my new last name stitched in it from Etsy that's 150-200 then a plain long veil for 400-500 in store.

I saw how expensive brand new veils were in store and immediately thought to check fb marketplace. I found one for $40 and it's beautiful

WOW. That would be a definite NO for me even if it was a beautiful venue! But there would be no way in hell I'd spend that much just for the venue alone. That's a wedding, honeymoon and a down payment for a house all together!

I totally get you with the veils!! I couldn't believe either with how much they can cost! I'm lucky that I found one for $130!

Like everything! 😂 I knew weddings were expensive but man I never realized how expensive actually.... florists are what really shocked me! Our first quote was like $1000 just for bouquets and boutonnieres!

My big shock factor was the prices of venues.

I never looked at wedding stuff until getting engaged (I had no idea where to start for like 2 weeks until a co-worker saw I was engaged and asked me questions I had no idea about and directed me to wedding wire). So when I started looking for Edmonton, Alberta area I just was clicking save because I thought they were absolutely gorgeous venues. THEN when I really looked at their profiles and websites with the packages on there I was like out of breath after seeing the prices of these places, I remember in April crying to my fiancé because we would not be able to have the wedding of our dreams because the venue fees were literally the costs of the wedding we were planning on having.

Some of you who have known me since joining back at the end of March are probably wondering, what changed? How can you afford the Whitewood Barn. Well I got an inheritance that helps us with literally everything so now we don't really have a budget, if that makes sense? Yes, I am being smart and still able to put a down payment on a house LOL

But yeah, I saw a venue fee where it was 30,000 minimum spending - and the place only had the capacity for like 75 people, I was like WTFFFF.

An other big shock when I went wedding dress shopping was the prices of veil's in store compared to like etsy!? I tried on a veil that was $500, I was like WTF why is it so much!?
