Stick on bras

Christiana, on November 16, 2020 at 19:23 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 15

Hello everyone!

I'm a bit unhappy with my dress alterations but don't have time to get it fixed (wedding is next weekend). My main issue is that the cups are slightly too high and I think I probably should have had the bust altered to be smaller. I'm not sure how I didn't notice these issues at the store but I tried it on at home today and really didn't like how it sat on my chest. Fortunately we're just doing the ceremony next weekend so I won't be in it for too long and I can try to get it fixed before our reception that will happen at some point in the future.

I think I can probably salvage the situation with a bit of extra padding and something to give me a lift. I tried taping which does help a bit but it doesn't give me the extra fullness I think I need - if anything it flattens me a bit. The tricky thing is that my dress has quite a sheer plunging neckline (Willowby Galatea) so any sort of regular bra is out of the question.

Does anyone have experience using stick on bras like the ones below? If so which brand did you use and how did they work out? Were they sticky enough to stay on all day?

Or if anyone has other recommendations of other types it would be most appreciated!

Just to close out this thread I thought I'd share what worked for me! Because my dress was so sheer I found these worked the best: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07WLDRD9G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They were surprisingly sticky, covered everything that needed covering, gave a bit of a lift and a bit of extra padding. They were completely covered by my dress but also had a skin-like texture/colour (if you are caucasian and relatively fair - unfortunately I haven't seen these in other skin tones) so if my dress lifted at all I don't think they were too noticeable. I wore them for about 10 hours or so but they would have lasted longer. The only caveat is that there was no sweating involved, so jury is out on whether they'd hold up on the dance floor.

They stayed put! They didn’t move. There is a thin plastic on the back that you peel off, and it actually sticks to the cup of your dress. Honestly they are the best. I’m going back to the mall to buy some more just for general use.

Oh that plunge looks really similar to mine. Hmm this might work then. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! Smiley smile

Yeah I'm very concerned the adhesive won't work for me. I've had bad luck in the past but I'm desperate haha!

Did you have any issues with these inserts slipping around in your dress or did you find they stayed put okay?

Honestly do not waste your money and time with those stuck on lift bras. They hardly stick well, and they don’t work. If you have a show case store near your, try those peplos inserts I told you about... they are the best. You cannot beat that price either.

Okay, those lift bras did NOT work for me. I went to this store called “show case”, they carry all of the items they sell on infomercials and stuff. They had the best cups that you just slip right into your dress and they were only $4.99!!! I wore them for my wedding day and it was amazing. Link below.

I bought this one from Aerie, totally worth the money. I wore it for my dress shopping appointment. I bought it in my normal bra size and it fit perfectly! I’ve tried other bras like this and they all sucked but this one is great! Stick on bras 4

I've never given them a really good try before but I remember several years ago thinking the adhesive wasn't very good. Hopefully there have been improvements since then! Off to Ardene I go! Smiley smile

I've never had any luck with them, but a friend of mine also gets here from ardenes. She's quite busty and finds they offer enough lift and keep the girls under control.

I had talked to my MOH and she has used a few for a couple of weddings she's been in and she's gotten them from La Senza and they worked great. She also said she has used one's from Ardenes and they worked pretty much the same and they're a little bit cheaper in price.
