Hi everyone!
My fiancé and I are determined to stay within our budget. I’m curious to hear about your tips and ideas on how you saved or plan to save money for your wedding!

We only had 30 guests. We had an all inclusive venue so I’m sure if we tried to organize more and do it ourselves, we might have been able to accommodate more, but that was all we wanted anyways.

How many guests did you have for a 10k wedding? We are looking between 10-15k budget but I don’t know if that’s feasible for 80 guests.

We checked out budget spreadsheets and picked out the three things most important to us and went from there. Some things we were happy to do without so the money suggested to put towards these things we just put towards our three important things instead. We decided we would rather have more money towards a honeymoon rather than one day (which sort of bit us in the butt because of covid haha).

My advice! Don't get caught up in the "bride" and "mrs" memorabilia, or custom items that are going to be hard to reuse or sell. I see so many adorable hoodies/robes/denim jackets that have glitter embroidery with "mrs" or "wifey", and it's cute and Instagram fabulous, but when will you ever wear it again? Does it mean as much to you as you think it does? Same goes for "bridesmaid" or "bride squad" stuff. Custom signs/seating charts/frames/table numbers are also hard to re-home/reuse, unless you can think of a place to put them in your new home for decor.

I saved a lot by buying off Facebook buy/sell pages, and doing what everyone else said: prioritize what is most important, and keep track in a spreadsheet.

I did some researching beforehand and I am keeing track of everything on an excel spreadsheet as a I go. I calculated my estimated budget, actual cost, and difference. Noting what is important for me and what is not So far its working great. Decor was a little more than I budgeted for. So I adjusted numbers elsewhere. Other costs that I thought were more I actually got discounts on which are are saving us a few dollars here and there. Hoping at the end of it we're at less then our estimated budget or right on the dot

We picked what was most important to us to spend on (photos) and what we didn't need (a big meal and an open bar). We are having a cash bar and appetizers instead of a full meal. By having our reception on a Friday evening people aren't expecting a full meal and we saved on the venue rental as well.

Many of the To Do list on WW wasn't needed. Flowers were cut out and lighting. The simple things were done to keep it elegantly bright.

Rentals was one way that did save for the event and return after to avoid reselling. The cost itself was less than the purchase price retail wise. Wedding dress and suit/tux for a day is the same price as purchasing now a days.

Online purchases for the small items was the best decision made to pay less and if not satisfied, refunds were given back. The fact you get all accessories and décor in stores may be the same given its up cost pricing where as amazon and ebay were easy to get the same items. Plus the shipping wasn't bad though half the things were late on delivery.

Vendors can work towards your budget based on what you want done and how packages can be altered to your needs. Hours are also considered to know what they offer and how much more for extra, the same goes for having a 2nd person of photographer and videographer.

My fiance and I have saved a lot of money by buying things from our local facebook wedding sell and swap. Other brides selling their wedding decor and such.

We also booked a lot of our vendors and venue 2 years in advance so we could get the best deal

    Hi Alyssa!
We planned out how much we wanted to spend and what vendors were essential to us. We did some research on pricing for each type and got an idea of what to expect which helped us narrow vendors down. To stay at $10k, we broke the price down to accommodate the vendors, then saved on decor and dresses by buying second hand or at sales.
