Stag and Doe: Yea or Nay?

Lynnie, on November 12, 2018 at 09:05 Posted in Before the wedding 0 26

Will you have a stag and doe (or jack and jill) party before the big day? Are you saying yea or nay to this pre-wedding event?

Nah! It’s not common where we live, so it wasn’t really even considered for us

I was thinking to but I never liked attending them myself with all the pressure to buy tickets and spend money. I was thinking instead of doing sort of like a online raffle with friends and family and even friends of friends. People could pay $5+ to participate in a raffle and we would post photos of prizes and then choose the winners online on video for people to view I think it could be a different and more approachable way to save a few bucks Smiley smile

Yes! IMO it’s an excuse for all my closest friends and family to get together and have fun.
I don’t drink and neither does my fiancé so our stag/stagette parties are not going to be the traditional drinking events.
Seven of us women are travelling to Disneyland in January for about a week. That will be my stagette. I’m over the moon about it!

This really is not a thing in Alberta! I only heard about this for the first time last year. It seems kind of tacky...

Nay for us! We might get together with some friends and celebrate before the wedding (different than a traditional stag and doe or shag where I am lol).

Same! I had heard the term, but I had no idea what it actually entailed until I joined a wedding website.

I’m not crazy about the idea of a bachelor/bachelorette party either; I think I will either have one or a bridal shower, but not both.

No, I'd never heard of this one until hanging around on wedding websites. We probably won't do bachelor/ette parties either.

Neither one of us are interested in it.

We're having a Jack & Jill/ Stag & Doe. I'm really excited for it and think it will be a lot of fun. We also really would appreciate the money Smiley tongue . But the main thing is having everyone together to have a good time.
