Splurge or Save: Entertainment

Joey, on September 9, 2019 at 08:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 27

Are you pulling out all the stops for a lavish reception with live music, performers, games, and entertainment for your guests to enjoy? Or are you sticking to the basics - good music, good food, and good company?

Are you splurging or saving on wedding day entertainment?

Hi Annette, I did manage to find a steel pan musician. His name is Kenn Lewis. This is his website link https://kennlewis.com/home. He also has reviews on wedding wire too which is nice. Here is the wedding wire link https://www.weddingwire.ca/wedding-music/kenn-lewis-caribbean-entertainment--e6202 . I have not contacted him yet but I’ve written his name down on my “things to do list”

Have you figured out the steel pan musician? I'm looking for one as well.

Maybe a bit of a splurge - a DJ is a must have for us coming from a Caribbean background and my FH being from an African background, music stems deep in both our cultures. No playlist would ever suffice. We may also hire a live musician to play the steel pan for the ceremony.

    Saved!

We went with a preferred vendor from our wedding venue, which turned out to be the most affordable option for us. Though we saved loads of money with them, the quality of service we got was worth so much more!!!

Saving mostly. Our DJ was priced a little higher than we anticipated but we'll probably make something to take photos with and get some games for guests to play.

I think we saved. We had a ceremony musician but we didn't have anything more since there was no dancing.

SAVE! We had our laptop set up and rented some speakers and some lights and made our own playlist from spotify.. it was great! we ended up leaving it open for people to make requests and if we thought of a song we would go play it. the party was seriously bumping which was awesome

I would say slurge? Its something people should have but I spent an average amount on it- didn't go cheap on it or expensive.

Sticking to the basics of just a DJ, so I guess a happy medium between splurging and saving!

Saving - we are really trying to have a budget conscious wedding. My FH has a family friend who is a DJ so she will be giving us quite the discount!

Saving big time. Our DJ cost us only $500 for the whole night. It took us forever to find someone that inexpensive in our area.
